Dancing Silks by Ivan Turk
A Turian Gate
C/M/T
Review by Dear Darling
Hanze's slave
I was exploring the market at A Turian Gate when I found a stall full of freebies. One set in particular caught my eye as they were labeled "dancing silks."
They were created by Ivan Turk, and came in various colors. I chose the lavender ones, and ran home to try them on.
To my dismay, when I put them on, the prims were HUGE. The silks at my waist looked more like a series of hoola hoops then clothing. However, the whole outfit comes with modify permissions, so I squeezed the prims smaller.
I kept playing with them, and realized, to my delight, that I could basically do anything with these silks to recreate my very own look.
I changed the bands around my arms, legs, waist and across my breasts to a silver metal, then retextured the silk to a lovely light green.
Dear's retextured version
These silks are full perms, meaning that you can copy and transfer them as well. Before you start to make changes to them, make a second set in case you make a serious mistake while editing.
To do this, find the silks in your inventory. Right click on one item and select "copy." Then highlight the folder the objects are in, and select "paste."
Repeat these steps until you have copies of every part of the silks. You will want to rename all of the pieces so you don't get them mixed up.
You can grab these silks and other freebies at A Turian Gate in Perriwinkkel.

Dream says: "I stayed a long time with the tribe, eventually becoming their Second. Shortly after joining the tribe I decided to try my hand at making panther skins, and since then have developed a line of costumes not just for panthers, but for all kinds of roles within the gorean, medieval, and victorian rp themes. I discovered the Silk Caravanserai through the SLGor forums, and immediately wanted to be part of a great publication about fashion within the gorean realms."

It's Friday and we have another lovely freebie from Firefox Fonda of Sexensual, but you must join the Sexensual update group to get it.
Plus, there's this fabulous peacock feather dancing outfit at Four Yip making the rounds on all the Second Life freebie blogs. Check it out at SLFree*Style.
It's a little bit of treasure hunting to do to find it, but well worth the effort.
Over at Freebie Finds in SL we have a one linden (L1) Sun Fairy outfit from Fancy Fairy if you're into fairy stuff or just need a great costume for an OOC dance.
SLFree*Style also has a very nice princess dress (probably won't work as dresses for the Gorean Ladies because of the neckline and half-sleeves, but still great for Fantasy wear) and a lovely rainbow circlet from Kouse's Sanctum.
Whew! This kajira is exhausted from combing for freebies for you all. Have a great weekend! *Smiles*
Chained Heat
Spicy Kisses by Charm Cookie
C/M/NT
L150
For once pia doesn't have a lot to say. She just thinks this is a very cute primless kajira rag set. Chained Heat seems to specialize in cute tunics and rags, all tempting enough to drive pia into Second Life inventory overload. With some restraint, girl is showing this one in forest, though she wanted to buy it in several colors. Also available in peach, salmon, grape, sienna, ivory, walnut, wine, yellow and navy.
P.S. Chained Heat is having a sale right now, so it's a good time to visit!
Chinese Sinkiang Girl's Outfit by Weiwei Platthy
Chinese Impressions
L590
M/C/T
There has been a lot of fun stuff going on surrounding Chinese New Year on SL, and pia tripped across this awesome dress while getting a free hairdo. It looked to her to be a set that could make some Free Ladies very happy with the simple addition of a face veil from Beyond the Veil, perhaps.
model: Mistress Erin Stein
This large set comes with lots of extras--two tops, two hats, two bodices, a vest, jewelry and even the intricately braided hair. Shown in hot pink, also available in red. Mistress Erin chose to layer the puff sleeves over the beautifully embroidered but slightly sheer long sleeves. There are many possible ways to wear this set. The feather plume on the first hat is great! One caveat-- because the skirt is made of filmy layers, you don't want to be back lit in it as this causes a very odd leg silhouette to appear on the skirt. Check out the other beautiful traditional Chinese outfits while you're at Chinese Impressions. Most are sold as complete sets, including gorgeous hair!

Simone Fugazi
Wild Sentinel by Simone Fugazi
L650
NC/M/T
pia loves orange, so it's no surprise that this beautiful panther wear caught her eye. It's just one of a host of lovely color selections available for this multi-piece outfit-- tan, black, purple, red, spotted ivory fur. The cape is beautifully textured and has great movement, but the outfit doesn't suffer when you take the cape off.
Cute animal spike decorations add extra dazzle, and the crumpled silk texture has amazing depth. As lovely as this looks in still photos, it really has to be seen in-world to be fully appreciated.
pia tries to look fierce with spikey face thingees

Chain Silks by Kallyfaith Rolland
This is a neat little chain mail and ribbon set with two undershirt options, one more pg and one revealing. The chain mail is on the clothing layers with lovely sheer flexi flounces and ribbons and a lovely headpiece, too. It has some bling, but if bling isn't your thing, you could take off the blinging pieces and still have a lovely outfit.
Apologies for the extremely late posts today. Pia's First Life person had home electrical issues, fun fun!
Check out this awesome review over on SLNN(Second Life Network News): Brought to you by the letter T, a behind the scenes look into the design workshops of Analise's Talyn Barret and Devilish Cupcake's Abby Coalcliff. Tymmerie Thorne gives us a peek into the second lives of these talented ladies who work so hard to keep us supplied with beautiful things. We hope that lucky chair lands on T soon!

Tal! I am Dear Darling in Second Life, and Pia has graciously said that I may join her in her review efforts. As a Gorean slave, I personally look for clothing that is not only attractive, but true to the books. I especially like to wear camisks for every day living, and luxurious silks for special occasions.
I am owned, in both lives, by Hanze Melnitz. In SL Gor, I reside in the dirty, grungy, but oh-so-fun city of Port Kar. When not in service, I spend my time building, dancing and blogging (http://recklesskajira.wordpress.com/). In my First Life, I live in Texas, and enjoy writing, watching movies and listening to music.
I love the idea of blogging Gorean fashion, not just because I might find incredible new things this way, but because I think this is something important that is needed. Often times, designers are limited in what they can display in their shops, so buyers have to purchase items without having a clear idea as to what a piece of clothing might look like.
Please, send me a note if you would like for me to write a review on your silk, camisk, Panther, Free Women or Free Men's clothing (I have a male shape and skin, too, but shhhh! *winks*). I'm eager to get started!

The gate into Kailiauk market
Kailiauk has undergone a rebuild recently, and their market very much benefited from it. Master Stephan Peck and Mistress Fancy Friis have teamed up to give the market a lovely old-world flair. Located at the front of the city, visitors must travel through it to reach the city gates. Although role-play is permitted and encouraged in the market area, it is a safe-zone. Earth girls need not worry about being accosted while shopping there.
One can stroll through the market street, or if you're looking for something specific, there are dispensers at the gate that give a list of the vendors by category or stall. There are full store fronts, open tent stalls, and carts to browse with many favorite vendors and some new names too.
Kailiauk is a Gorean "cylinder city", described in the books as having soaring cylindrical buildings connected with aerial bridges. The builders of Kailiauk have done a lovely job of creating that vision in Second Life. If you go into the city, be sure to see the Physician's Cylinder and the library!

Embrace of Eros by Aquila Silvera
The Lone Owl Market
NC/M(prims)/T
L350
Hot and sexy kajirus outfit with a color change HUD. There's nine color choices in the HUD; Emerald shown. This set has a nice balance between the lingerie/masculine issue. It's not too delicate and not too chunky. And with all those color choices, it's sure to please any silk slave's Master or Mistress. Buy at the Lone Owl Market, formerly Owl & Larl.
important back view! Thanks to C.E. for modeling once again.

Buy at the Var Viverra stand at the Northern Woods Market
True Huntress by Emiy Trebuchet
L300*
C/NM/NT
Not long ago pia showed you Emily Trebuchet's so very fierce and lovely panther outfit Larl's Roar. Shortly after that, the gracious Huntress dropped this outfit on pia with a comment that it could be used as new pieces with the Larl's Roar as well. *pia makes googly eyes at how designers are always improving on stuffs* Rwar, some more fiercely textured and carefully constructed pieces to wear on their own or with Larl's Roar. Mistress Erin, who models Free Lady clothes here, wishes the canteen was scripted, because it's such a great looking canteen. pia loves the top so much she broke her no nipples on the blog rule, but she also loves the net and hide top from the Larl's Roar set. This kajira didn't know that Huntresses have so many fun wardrobe dilemmas!

Sexensual Silk Shack
Firefox Fonda has been busy not only making beautiful new silks lately but also giving them a beautiful new home. Her Silk Shack opened earlier this week. There's a free gift waiting for us by the door, the hand-drawn Penny silk. Shown below is just one option out of many included in this huge free silk set. Make sure you go all the way up to the roof to check out the L50 bargains, too!
as always, click to enlarge!
Oh, and don't miss the lucky chair for more lovely gift clothes. There was a cute camisk in it when pia was there.
Enelya's Silks
Enchantment by Enelya Greyskin
L400
NC/M/T
Yet another acquisition from the huge Sardar Fair shopping splurge, but Enelya has a shop in the Tahari Souk, one of this kajira's favorite shopping destinations in all of Second Life Gor.
Available in blue, red, white, green and purple as well as the black shown, the lovely fabric has a lovely tapestry look in-world. It was hard to choose one color but the black looked like it would photograph best. The little butterflies on the top harness are simply adorable.

Nubian Angel
Seann by Hiri Nurmi
L800*
C/M/NT
Very nice minimalist silks with a "worn" fabric texture. This outfit has been out for a while but is now available in more colors. Cute little peacock feather accent! The frayed edges are a thoughtful detail well done with no freaky alpha channel issues.
As we kajirae expect from Nubian Angel, great movement and drape in the flexi, too!

Ceres Silks
Gossamer Silks by Ceres Prototype
L400
NC/M(prims)/T
Another Sardar Fair find, this three piece set has lovely fabric texture. The waist of the skirt is a separate layer but I'm counting it as "skirt" because you really can't wear it on its own.
Gossamer silks are available in a wide range of color choices; this is Golden Pomegranate. The white combinations were also very tempting!
Good back interest! A kajira likes to look good coming and going.
pia wishes Ceres well and hopes that she continues to make lovely silks.
Cleo hair by Kavar; free Prime collar available pretty much everywhere.

Kajirae Brothel Shop
Kajirea's Lady in Red by Snjezana Tzara
L399
M/C/NT
This naughty kajira lured Lady Erin over to the Kajira brothel to buy this very proper medieval lady dress. She couldn't resist the lovely textures and little prim accents. Comes with matching cape in rich red velvet.
model: Erin Stein
No gloves or veils included for a Gorean Free Woman, but a quick trip to Beyond the Veil could fix at least part of that!
Shazadi
Ayana by Rio Alzono
L300
NC/M/T
Here's a pretty set that pia found shopping around Sardar Fair. Not sure if Rio Alzono has a stand alone store, but Sardar Fair is always worth the visit. The top is so beautiful and has what looks to be hand drawn textures all the way-- no prims there at all. The metalwork is on the shirt layer and the fabric is on the underwear layer so that you can wear the metalwork bra without the liner for an even sexier look. pia had to put on a large kajira shape for this prim skirt. It is modify, but you can only make it larger, not smaller unless you're willing to edit individual pieces.
Ayana comes in a host of colors, including chocolate, fushia, purple, red, white, green and blue. Shown in teal. If you don't have time to do Sardar Fair, you can buy it online at Rio Alonzo's SL Exchange store or Rio Alonzo's OnRez store.
Lovely fabric details, both in the texture on the skirt drape and here on the back. Not quite primless but certainly a lovely and elegant low-prim outfit.

This kajira's dream come true:
Search for Gorean Fashion Syndicate in the groups tab. This is the notices only group. There's also a chat group. GFS is the work of Angelica Trescothick, who is being elevated to demi-deity status in pia's personal pantheon. Angelica seems to have created the Gorean Fashion Syndicate for similar reasons that Silk Caravanserai came into being. Gorean and Fantasy fashion is for the most part not well-covered by the more mainstream fashion press. Sure, Gorean designers could join FasCon, but many of us who want to follow Gorean and Fantasy fashion don't want to read through the mountain of advertisements for earth-people clothes. GFS will serve our little niche market wonderfully, and pia is thrilled to not have to play the "what group out of these groups that pia loves will she drop to join this other group that she really needs to be in?" game any longer.

Fantasia: Fantasy Clothiers
Savage Winter(Brown) by Dream Resistance
L300
NC/NM(except cloak)/T
Panther wear tends to come in two major categories-- fur bikinis or form-fitting leather. This outfit is neither. With astonishing attention paid to the detail work, this patchwork leather eight piece set combines winter practicality and elegance. The neck and cuff ruffles are even more stunning in-world and the designer paid attention to the flexi too, making the overdress move convincingly and gracefully.
The cloak is a little too flexi for pia's taste, but it does look awesome when it fluffs out all over. pia thinks a Gorean Free Woman might wear this as traveling gear though its target audience is the wild women of the forest. A beautiful, haughty outfit suitable for a woman who can take care of herself.

Juelles Silks
Emerald Heart by Juelle Robbiani
L400*
NC/NM/T
Juelle, who this girl went to Second Life kajira school with once upon a time, has recently launched her own line of silks. This sweet and ornate 11 piece set from her collection includes hair jewels and and chest jewels along with the more usual belly ring and arm/leg bands. Since this is a no mod set, this girl had a bit of a struggle wrestling the hair jewels into her big messy kajira hair, but the rest of the set is a standard fit that's going to work for a lot of us.
Ornate scroll work on the system top and panties
Also available in Sapphire, Onyx or Ruby.
Join Juelle's group and get gift silks every day until Valentine's Day (Feb 14th)! Search for Juelles Silks in the group tab and look in the notices for past goodies too. Juelle prices all her silks under L500 and is very generous with the freebies to her group. Please help pia welcome sis Juelle to the wild and wonderful world of Gorean Fashion. *smiles*

Catena Aeterna Designs
Beaded Camisk by kiana kuhr
L100 On Sale!!
NC/NM/T
Big 50% off sale going on at Catena Aeterna. pia snagged this awesome beaded camisk to show you in turquoise, also available in other colors. Lovely shiny beads and no prims for low lag beauty. This piece is full frontal exposure, so pia had to artfully flip some hair over her breasts and pick a tame pose. You want to have a good skin for this camisk! *grins*
A little weirdness going on with the jacket upper and lower junction, but nothing seriously distracting. There's a bunch of stuff you don't want to miss in the sale room, including a kirtle and some other fun role-play clothes. Run over fast before the sale is over and you're all sad 'cause you missed the good stuff!
